Great question! There are two types of goals. Habit goals and achievement goals.

Habit goals are ones that repeat themselves. Ie: Read one page a day.

Achievement goals are one-time events. Ie: Finish a book by Nov 1.

Habit goals create the person you want to become. Achievement goals are one and done. So goals can certainly be a problem if they’re only achievement-oriented.

However, I’d say 95% of my goals are habit goals. So, to answer your question, it comes down to the type of goal you set. They both have their pros and cons.
